I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Erica and fiance John on their wedding invitations. The proposal set place under an old tree on his farm out in Texas. He popped the question by engraving “Will you marry me?” into the trunk. Not to mention that the tree was cover in a million twinkle lights. Are you kidding me?! That is every little girl’s dream. Naturally, the couple exchanged vows under the tree in true fairytale fashion. One of my favorite piece of this wedding suite is the real wood envelope. It is beautiful, functional and USPS friendly. Congrats to Erica and her prince charming in boots!

It was a great honor and joy to work with Katie and her husband Blake on all their wedding paper goods. I had so much fun collaborating with Katie and coming up with a custom coral and grey invitation suite. The wedding was perfectly adorned with personal details from homemade family cookies to warm blankets to cozy up to. A real fairy tail come true.

Salt + Pepper is being featured in the Irish newspaper The Cork. My French half is very happy to be representing in Europe. What a great way to start the new year!

I found this great letterpress project from Studio On Fire. It’s a perfect example on the behind-the-scenes action of the letterpress world. Here is a quick glimpse into the art of letterpress printing from start to finish.

First comes concept and sketching of ideas
Next is recreating the sketch as vector art on the computer
Once the art is created on the computer it gets sent off to be made into photopolymer plates (which look like big ugly stickers).
And the final step is printing!!

I can’t wait to get to it this weekend.

Happy weekend!!!

Brighten someones day with a little “Hello”. This is one of my favorites that I have done so far. It’s so versatile and great to have on hand. I have used this card in so many occasions, from a simple greeting all the way to a birthday card. It will be available soon on Etsy. I’ll keep you posted.

I have a total girl crush! Jessica Hische is only 25 years old, and has already made a huge name for herself in the design and typography community. I drool over her daily letter blog, Daily Drop Cap, where she creates a capital letter every day in a completely new and fresh way. Her website is also a very dangerous place to get lost in. It’s filled with so much beautiful typography that you can’t help but start doodling your own on some scratch paper. If your heart goes pitter patter like mine does at the sight of these, then scoot on over to her online store and get some for yourself.

Call me old fashioned but nothing beats getting a handwritten thank you card. I also love to write them. Here are a couple of personal stationery sets I have done in the past. Always so much fun to do.

After over a year of planning a wedding, I can honestly say it has been the most stressful experience of my life. It has also been the most rewarding. It’s like a version of yourself comes out and takes over. A very neurotic and hyper focus version of you. But now that I am on the “other side” and experiencing marital bliss, I have found so much appreciation for the art of weddings. I love going to weddings now and seeing how much the bride and groom have put of themselves into every single layer of the wedding experience.

So here is the project that started it all. From buying my letterpress to taking my paper obsession to the next level.

Here is my wedding letterpress suite (pictures of our happy day will be coming soon via the awesome duo known as Two Pair Photography).

-Printed on Holyoke 100% cotton paper.

– Custom cattle iron and hand branded into wood backing.

-Fold out poster with directions and activities on back.

-RSVP postcard with vintage Texas longhorn image.
